I very much enjoy the process of working with a client to create a custom work. Feel free to contact me to chat about possibilities.
For custom work my prices vary pretty much according to how long I estimate a piece will take – and that varies according to complexity and size.
For example, something around 20 cm x 25cm (8″ x 10″) would generally cost between AUD$80 and $200 – depending on the level of complexity. Postage would be extra (note: I’m in Australia). I can still make something beautiful at the lower range of prices – that’s something we can discuss. These prices assume a mix of materials including silks, linens, cottons, beads, leather.
My process usually goes like this:
- I draft up a couple of ideas based on what you would like and email them through. Sometimes this takes a few emails and questions back and forth.
- once you a have chosen direction from the options, we agree to a price, a timeline and you pay a deposit of half of the agreed price via paypal
- I start work – and send through progress pictures regularly as I stitch so that you can see how it’s going and ask questions, I can make adjustments etc
- When it’s done and you’re happy, I send through finished pictures and request the final payment and postage. I then carefully pack it and send it off to you 😀
The main thing is to make sure I make something you’re completely happy with. So I tend to send through questions and progress shots a few times as I go, to make sure I’m on the right track.
